Cookbook of Memories

Author Emily Hoffman appeared at Zion’s Barton Senior Residence on May 4 with a mission: to gather well-loved recipes from anyone who would be willing to share those favorite ones prepared by a lost loved one. She wants to gather 100 such favorites for foods of any sort, and put them in a book entitled ‘A Blending of Bittersweet Memories’, which she wants to have published by the end of this year.

The book will include the emotional stories that make those recipes important to the people who remember them. She not only wants to keep those favorite recipes alive, but the memories of those who once prepared them. One such recipe that was her mother’s favorite, who recently died of breast cancer, was ‘Triple Berry Crisp’ which she prepared for her Barton House audience and then gave samples.
